Chairs of Diocesan Synod Houses elections 2024

Following the closing dates for nominations for Chair of the Houses of Clergy and Laity, there was one candidate for the Chair of the House of Laity of Diocesan Synod. Therefore, Canon Keith Malcouronne is duly elected and will remain in office for three years (until a successor is appointed).

There were two nominations for the Chair of the House of Clergy, and a ballot is now required. The successful candidate will take up office following the election at Diocesan Synod on 23rd November 2024 and remain in office for three years (until a successor is appointed).

Voting papers and personal statements will be available before the start of the meeting on Saturday 23rd November 2024.

Responsibilities
The role of each Chair carries a range of responsibilities and duties. As well as sharing the chairmanship of Diocesan Synod, the successful candidates will become elected members of the Bishop's Council and the Business Planning Group. The Chairs will also be ex officio members of the Vacancy in See Committee and may be required to attend or sit on other Synodical Committees, Working Parties and events.

14th November Nominations close for Chairs of Diocesan Synod + 100 word supporting statement 
Candidate information sent to Diocesan Synod members
23rd November Election of Chairs at Diocesan Synod (if required)
