We’re supporting local churches who want to reduce their carbon emissions and have opened our first round for grants averaging between £4,000-£5,000.
Bishop Paul, Net Zero Champion, said: “We’re putting our money where our mouth is, and our actions where our faith lies. Reducing carbon use is part of caring for creation and honouring God. So, we’ve set up this new Net Zero Carbon Quick Wins fund to help churches do the things that are quick and easy to do. I’d love to see all our churches jump on this opportunity to access money, whether you use it to update your lighting to LED, improve insulation, or upgrade energy controls.”
The Diocese of Guildford’s NZC Quick Wins fund is now open for applications from Diocese of Guildford churches. The money can be used for schemes that reduce carbon use. Projects can include:
- LED lighting
- Insulation
- Improved energy controls, for example using smart devices
- Upgraded energy supplies to support solar panels or air-source heat pumps
Although you don’t need a professional energy audit to secure the funding, your application will be prioritised if the work you are funding through the grant has been identified through one. Grant applications can be from £500 to £10,000, and all parishes can apply.
To discuss your project and apply, please email our NZC Project Officer, Martin Carr.
