If you are aged 15 to 35 and would like an unforgettable experience of freedom, prayer and community, join the Taizé Pilgrimage on 16-24 August 2025.
The Pilgrimage is being organised by the Diocese of Oxford and the Diocese of Guildford, and will give people the opportunity to travel to Taizé, a religious community of brothers in the Burgundy region of France. The community has been welcoming young people looking to share their simple life, since the end of WWII.
Meetings at Taizé are about searching and listening to God and enjoying a strong sense of community where people join in prayers, song, bible readings and silence. The brothers of the community will introduce daily biblical reflections organised by age and language groups. This will be followed by small group discussions and then afternoon workshops exploring themes such as faith and life, social justice, environment and world peace.
The cost of the pilgrimage is £395 for under-18s and £425 for over-18s, with individuals asked to bring a tent for their accommodation. 15–16-year-olds who would like to attend must be accompanied by a designated adult.
Sophie, from Emmanuel Church, Stoughton attended the pilgrimage last year when it was organised by Diocese of Oxford. Speaking of her experience, she said:
“Taizé was a fantastic opportunity to explore a form of worship that I had not personally encountered before. The meditative songs and times of reflection led me deeper into a connection with God, and the week was a spiritually transformative experience. It was amazing to be able to meet, pray, and study the Bible with lots of young adults from across the world in so many different languages.”

If you would like to join the pilgrimage, please book by 7 July.
