The Revd David Senior has joined our mission enabler team as Diocesan Adviser on Evangelism with responsibility for helping churches to share the good news of Jesus with their local communities.
The Mission Enabler team’s focus in on helping every parish to reach its full potential under the Parish Needs Process.
David previously served at Church House as Interim Local Mission Adviser and recently co-ordinated the Archbishop of Canterbury’s visit to the diocese. He was appointed an Archbishops’ Evangelist in 2020 and last year was asked to join the national leadership team of the Archbishops’ College of Evangelists. David has kindly agreed to give the diocese his time, alongside his work as a presenter on Premier Christian Radio and local ministry at St Paul’s Howell Hill.
‘The Parish Needs Process has enormous potential to help our churches, schools and the wider communities which they serve to flourish’ commented David ‘so I am greatly looking forward, as part of this process, to supporting those parishes requesting consultancy on evangelism. This may entail working with churches to develop a culture of invitation, help their congregations to share their faith, link social action with evangelism and develop new outreach initiatives.’
‘I also hope to help identify and encourage those in a range of ministries who have specific evangelistic callings, particularly through expanding our diocesan evangelists’ network and periodic evangelism conferences.’
He continues, ‘This is a time of opportunity for the church, as people emerge from the pandemic seeking answers to life’s big questions and ready to re-connect with others. I look forward to seeing what God will continue to do through our parishes to transform the communities they serve.’
