Today, Ash Wednesday, marks the start of the reflective season of Lent, where in our liturgical calendar we consider the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness prior to His crucifixion and resurrection.
This Lent we have produced some small group resources to help us consider our calling as disciples of Jesus. The five-week video course, “Jesus and Calling: On the Road to Easter”, will see a set of weekly videos being released including a 15-minute conversation video and two short testimonials, from a variety of voices and faces from across the diocese.
We hope the videos will lead you on a journey of exploration as you hear the thoughts from some of the Lent lectionaries and the stories of others who are or have been on their own vocational journeys.
The first set of videos is being officially launched today. The Lent Course series is being kicked off by Bishops Andrew (Bishop of Guildford) and Paul (Bishop of Dorking), looking at the Bible passage Mark 1:9-19.
The Church of England’s national team have also produced some great Lent resources, “Watch and Pray”, that can be used by churches and individuals. To find out more about all the Lent resources on offer, head to our Lent page.
