Pippa Cramer of Holy Trinity Claygate has been awarded her MBE at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
The creator of the Hymns we Love and the older generation group ‘Connections’ received her honour from The Princess Royal, Her Royal Highness Princess Anne recently.
“It was an incredible day at Buckingham Palace,” says Pippa, who was accompanied by her husband and co-author Steve at the investiture. “It has been the biggest honour to receive this award – in my mind, on behalf of the extraordinary teams I work alongside and all older people generally, who are just so incredibly brave and sadly often over-looked.”
Both Connections and the spinoff, Hymns We Love, are aimed at reaching an older generation, sharing Christian ideas and the Gospel with them in an engaging and accessible way.
Hymns We Love formed the cornerstone of the national Daily Hope phone line, which operated throughout the pandemic. It continues today for those who find themselves isolated or stuck at home.
Hymns We Love will be launched as a new resource for churches and leaders to use from 1 June 2023. The book and videos detail this evangelistic series for older people, exploring the Christian faith through some of the nation’s best-loved hymns. It can be pre-ordered now here.
