Date: 17 March 2022
March 23rd will be the second anniversary of the first UK lockdown. Since then bereavement has touched many of us.
The Church of England is supporting the charity Marie Curie in the the second National Day of Reflection. It will be a special day to think again about loss and grief. And churches are being encouraged to take part.
There will be activities happening throughout the day and resources to support everyone’s efforts.
The focus of the day will be a minute’s silence at 12 noon. But for the first time this year there will also be ‘Walls of Reflection’; simple spaces where people can leave a photograph, write a name or a memory, gather and support each other in our grief.
The organisers hope that the walls will be created in workplaces, schools, churches and community venues. There are plans for Marie Curie to host an online Wall of Reflection, too.
