The New Year gives new opportunities to further your Net Zero Carbon journey.
Join with other church leaders from across the dioceses of Guildford, Portsmouth and Chichester for the first joint Diocesan Net Zero Carbon Conference on Saturday 18th January at Portsmouth Cathedral. Martin Carr, our Net Zero Project & Engagement Lead shares more in the video below:
You can find full details for the Net Zero Carbon Conference on the Diocese of Portsmouth website.
Now that we’re into 2025, the Church of England’s Energy Footprint Tool is open for entering your church’s 2024 energy usage. New questions have been added to cover all the buildings in your parish, with the new online Building Scope Checker Tool helping you determine which buildings you need to report on and what information you need to provide.
The data collected from the tool will help your church understand its carbon footprint and may mean you are eligible for grants to help kickstart your net zero projects.
The easy-to-use online tool is open and we are asking parishes to complete their submissions by Easter Monday (21 April). You can find it within the online Parish Returns system.
Alongside the conference and the Energy Footprint Tool, the Diocese’s Net Zero Carbon Team are available to support your parish as you seek to care for creation and take the steps to decarbonise your buildings.
