This year we are calling everyone in the diocese to celebrate Racial Justice Sunday. It’s a time to reflect on the importance of racial justice, to give thanks for the gift and beauty of human diversity, and to commit to end racism and end acts of discrimination.
The Racial Diversity Advisory Group has collaborated with the Cathedral to focus the Eucharist service at 0945 on 11 February on Racial Justice. The President will be Bishop Paul and preacher Canon Bev Hunt, the Bishop’s advisor on UKME/GMH issues.
If your church would like to host its own Racial Justice Service we recommend the Liturgical resources from the Church of England.
In the week before Racial Justice Sunday, we will be promoting Race Equality Week to raise awareness of unconscious bias and discrimination and address the barriers to race equality. We will be sharing the Race Equality Week’s daily challenges from 5-9 February which will take just 5 minutes of your time.
