A Diocese of Guildford spokesperson said:
“While we have not been actively posting on Twitter/X for the last year, we have made the decision to make our account entirely dormant. Like others, we are troubled by the reports of sexualised deepfakes being made and shared via the AI tool, Grok. We will therefore no longer be sharing posts on this platform. While we believe it is important to reach different audiences, highlighting the ways God is working across our diocese, we no longer believe this platform is conducive to sharing good news. We will continue posting updates on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and via our website.
“We continue to keep our social media presence under review.”
