The Priory Church of England Secondary School in Dorking became the latest member of the Enlighten Learning Trust (ELT) on Wednesday 1 May.
After a long but worthwhile process, the school has now smoothly transitioned into a new and stable future. “The school is now, arguably, in the healthiest place it has ever been in.” Said the Chair of Governors, Revd Peter Nevins.
Peter went on to mention, “It is a huge credit to our Headteacher, Jo Trimnell, Alex Tear (Director of Education) and the team at Guildford Diocese Board of Education, Mike Boddington (CEO) and the team at ELT, and, of course, our incredible staff and students at The Priory School.”
The Dorking-based secondary school becomes the fifth member of the ELT. The trust supports a network of schools that not only provide excellent education, and also redress inequalities of access and opportunity, inspire and foster aspiration, and nurture the enjoyment of learning, creative expression, and practical application.
“We are delighted to welcome The Priory Church of England School into the Trust and formalise the considerable work the school and Trust have been doing together for several years.” Says Mike Boddington, CEO of the ELT.
“Collaboration is at the heart of our vision, and we know that by working together the children of this school and others in the Trust will continue to flourish and experience an excellent education, always aiming to develop and improve. Welcome to Jo and her team.”
The school has much to celebrate in 2024, as they also welcomed Andy Poole as a Hub Leader as part of the Diocese’s Youth Catalyst Project. Along with the school’s Chaplain, Rob Steven, Andy helps support the spiritual vibrancy and pastoral care at The Priory.
