Following the elections for Chair of the Houses of Clergy and Laity of Diocesan Synod, there was one candidate for the Chair of the House of Laity of Diocesan Synod. Canon Keith Malcouronne is duly elected and will remain in office for three years (until a successor is appointed).
There were two candidates for the Chair of the House of Clergy. The successful candidate, Revd David Uffindell has been duly elected and will remain in office for three years (until a successor is appointed).
Responsibilities
The role of each Chair carries a range of responsibilities and duties. As well as sharing the chairmanship of Diocesan Synod, the Chairs are elected members of the Bishop's Council and the Business Planning Group. The Chairs are also ex officio members of the Vacancy in See Committee and may be required to attend or sit on other Synodical Committees, Working Parties and events.
