Church schools are denominational schools with a Christian religious character, vision and ethos.
Church schools are Christian communities where pupils and staff participate in daily acts of collective worship and work in close partnership with their local churches.
Church schools are state-funded schools which are either maintained by the Local Authority and the Diocese or operated by Church of England academy trusts.

The DBE and the Education team work closely with a variety of non-denominational schools including community schools, independent schools and further education colleges. Our services and support is open to all schools and partners.
