Leadership Training

The Leadership safeguarding training program provides an opportunity to develop your safeguarding skill set, to reflect on your safeguarding culture and identify potential areas for development. 

The training consists of two sessions set a week apart and are delivered either face-to-face or on Zoom via the CofE Training Portal. You need to attend both sessions to complete the module.

The Leadership Training is hosted on the Church of England Training Portal where workbooks, coursework, case study, certificates as well as Zoom link are held. This will help individuals and the Diocese keep track of most training completed in the Diocese. 

Before enrolling on this course please refer to our Training Pathway to check whether you need to complete this training.

Before Session 1 - Enrolment and pre-session tasks

Enrolment process

1. Go to the CofE Training Portal and log in with your username and password

2. Scroll down to 'Courses' section, click on ‘Leadership’ tab, then 'Guildford - Leadership', then ‘Enrol me’, fill in your details, submit them, and we will email you back as soon as possible to confirm your enrolment

3. Once you receive the confirmation of your enrolment go back to the 'Leadership' on the learning portal and click on ‘Course Overview' and then on 'Next Activity' 

4. Choose your mode of attendance, click on 'Become member of', then 'Confirm' and then 'Next Activity

5. Choose your dates, click on 'Become member of:' and 'Confirm'

 

Session 1 Preparation tasks - they must be submitted at least 7 days before the first session

1. Log into the CofE Training Portal, scroll down to ‘Courses’ section and go to 'Leadership' tab.

2. Click on ‘Guildford - Leadership’ 

3. Scroll down and click on the purple 'Session 1: Building Healthy Cultures' link 

4. Click on 'Answer the questions' button to begin

5. Complete the tasks. You can save your work and continue later by clicking on 'Save and exit'. When you completed all the tasks listed, press 'Submit Questionnaire' button. You will not be able to join the first session until this is done.

Joining Session - Zoom link information

Joining Session 1

On the day of your first session, please do the following:

1. Log into the CofE Training Portal, scroll down to ‘Courses’ section and go to 'Leadership' tab.  

2. Click on ‘Guildford - Leadership’ 

3. Click on the Zoom link. You will be placed in the waiting room and admitted with other participants at the scheduled time. Please note, there will be no separate Zoom link sent.

After Session 1 - Session 2 Preparation, Joining Session 2 and Evaluation information

Session 2 Preparation tasks - they must be submitted at least 24 hours before the second session

1. Log into the CofE Training Portal, scroll down to ‘Courses’ section and go to 'Leadership' tab.  

2. Click on ‘Guildford - Leadership’ 

3. Scroll down and click on the purple ‘Session 2: Responding Effectively’ link

4. Click on 'Answer the questions' button to begin

5. Complete the tasks. You can save your work and continue later by clicking on 'Save and exit'. When you completed all the tasks listed, press 'Submit Questionnaire' button. You will not be able to join the second session until this is done.

Joining Session 2

On the day of your final session please do the following: 

1. Log into the CofE Training Portal, scroll down to ‘Courses’ section and go to 'Leadership' tab.  

2. Click on ‘Guildford - Leadership’ 

3. Click on the Zoom link. You will be placed in the waiting room and admitted with other participants at the scheduled time. Please note, there will be no separate Zoom link sent.

Evaluation and Action Plan

1. Log into the CofE Training Portal, scroll down to ‘Courses’ section and go to 'Leadership' tab. 

2. Click on ‘Guildford Diocese’ 

3. Scroll down and click on the purple 'Evaluation task - guidance' link 

4. Read what your evaluation needs to consist of and click on 'Next Activity

5. Click on 'Add submission' and submit your work.

Your evaluation will be graded and your certificate will be available on your portal account 24 hours after the grading has been completed.
