There are specific Sundays throughout the year where churches can reflect on a particular theme such as Racial Justice, Safeguarding, The Environment and more. Check back in on this page for the latest materials available to support you locally.

Racial Justice Sunday

Racial Justice Sunday is for all churches to reflect on the importance of racial justice, to give thanks for the gifts and beauty of human diversity, and to commit to end racism and acts of discrimination.

CAP Sunday

‘CAP Sunday’ provides churches with the resources they need to run a Sunday Service that addresses the devastating impact that UK poverty is having, focusing on the church’s biblical mandate to respond with hope to those experiencing poverty. ‘CAP Sunday’ adopts a different theme each year, with this year spotlighting the gospel story Matthew 14:13-21, when Jesus responded with compassion to a five thousand strong crowd.

Some new resources have been released from expert budgeting and debt help UK charity, Christians Against Poverty (CAP). These free resources have been designed specifically to help churches respond to UK poverty. If the 15th October doesn't work for your church it can be done another day.

Safeguarding Sunday

Safeguarding Sunday is a safeguarding awareness raising campaign for churches run by the charity Thirtyone:eight. Each November, thousands of churches from diverse backgrounds and traditions across the UK come together to reflect on their own safeguarding journey, and to highlight and celebrate all the good work that is being done by so many behind the scenes to protect vulnerable people. If the 19th November is not suitable it can be done on another day. The more time dedicated to focus on safeguarding in a service, the greater the impact for the church, so if it has to be on a different day, that’s okay.
