Description:

The Diocese of Guildford is looking for an innovative E-Learning Developer to develop a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for our non-accredited training routes using the Moodle software platform.

The E-Learning Developer will be responsible for the development of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) for the Diocese of Guildford including instructional and learning design for a variety of non-accredited training routes, but with specific focus on our Foundations in Ministry (FiM) Programme.

In the first instance, the VLE will host all the training materials for the FiM course, both the foundational year in theology and the specialist courses offered in the second year of the programme.  The E-Learning Developer will shape and inform learning and training practice through the VLE, with specific application to the FiM Programme under the direction of the FiM Programme Manager.

The developer will ensure that the VLE is user-friendly for all (students, tutors, and others) and will train LMP staff on the management of content.  The developer will ensure that content maximises the advantages of e-learning.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be experienced in creating and maintaining a VLE for accredited and non-accredited learning.
  • Be experienced in developing Moodle LMS (or equivalent).
  • Be experienced in guiding students and staff in learning technologies.
  • Have excellent IT skills appropriate for creating and maintaining a VLE.
  • Understand adult learning principles.
  • Be fully supportive of the aims and mission of the Church of England.
